Physical Therapist or  Physical Therapist Assistant Examination Candidates

are those who attended an accredited physical therapy program and have not taken and passed the National Physical Therapy Examination

Physical Therapist or  Physical Therapist Assistant Endorsement Candidates

are those who attended an accredited physical therapy program and have taken and passed the National Physical Therapy Examination and have obtained a license in a US jurisdiction. This includes a candidate who is already scheduled to test or has recently tested and is awaiting licensure.

Foreign Educated Physical Therapist or  Physical Therapist Assistant Examination Candidates

are those who attended a non-accredited program who have not taken and passed the National Physical Therapy Examination. Foreign Educated PTs are not eligible for PTA licensure.

Foreign Educated Physical Therapist or  Physical Therapist Assistant Endorsement Candidates

are those who attended a non-accredited program who have taken and passed National Physical Therapy Examination and have obtained a license in a US jurisdiction. This includes a candidate who is already scheduled to test or has recently tested and is awaiting licensure. Foreign Educated PTs are not eligible for PTA licensure.

Military / Military Spouse Physical Therapist or  Physical Therapist Assistant Examination Candidates

Nevada has joined the Physical Therapy (PT) Compact, enabling licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) to practice across state lines with a compact privilege, rather than obtaining a full license in every participating state. This initiative expands care access, reduces regulatory barriers, and supports a mobile workforce.

As of January 20th, 2026, The Nevada Board is now issuing compact privileges

Key Points about the PT Compact:

• Compact privileges are purchased from the PT Compact Commission, not the Nevada Physical Therapy Board.
• A PT/PTA Compact Privilege in Nevada is not a PT/PTA license.
• To be eligible, practitioners must hold an active license in a home state that is a PT Compact member and meet other requirements, including passing Nevada’s Jurisprudence Exam.
• Practitioners must follow Nevada laws and scope of practice when working in Nevada under a compact privilege.

You are an Foreign Educated Examination Candidates, and when starting an application, you will select "Foreign Educated Examination Candidates" under Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. 

You are an Endorsement Candidate, and when starting an application, you will select "Endorsement Candidates" under Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant.
